In their investigation, the scientists scrutinized the relationship between coffee consumption and changes in body weight over four-year intervals. Notably, the researchers delved into the effects of both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee, as well as whether these beverages were prepared with sugar, non-sweeteners, or cream.

Their findings revealed that an additional daily cup of unsweetened coffee was associated with a reduction in body weight by approximately 0.12 kilograms or 0.26 pounds over a four-year span. It’s worth mentioning that individuals who introduced just one teaspoon of sugar into their daily coffee routine experienced a weight gain of approximately 0.09 kilograms or 0.20 pounds within the same time frame.
